Overview

The Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year and Second Team All American, Wirfs is an NFL-ready offensive tackle with Pro Bowl upside. The former Hawkeye has been making starts since his freshman season and is experienced at both the right and left tackle. He is one of the safer offensive line prospects in the draft class. He also happens to be the most athletic.

  • Fiery style of play
  • Gets pushed back a bit too often - need to add some power/strength
  • Smooth footwork

  • Athletic body type for an OL - looks like NFL OT
  • Rock solid tape - almost always neutralizes his assignment
  • Very sound

vs. Mississippi State 2018

  • A few instances where he struggled with speed/quickness
  • Montez Sweat did create some issues for him

  • Giants: Wirfs would fill need at RT for the Giants, and help protect offensive assets like Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones.
  • Chargers: Wirfs could represent a long term solution to the Chargers seemingly endless quest to add quality offensive lineman.
  • Dolphins: The addition of Wirfs would be an excellent starting point for the Dolphins offensive line rebuild.
  • Browns: Adding Wirfs to the fold would be a major boost to the Browns offense, which hamstrung by poor offensive line play.
