Vaughn: Vaughn made the play of the day — a 45-yard sliding catch with a defensive back “draped over him like a tablecloth.”
Profile: The Cowboys selected Vaughn in the sixth round out of Kansas State. The 5-5, 179-pounder led the FBS with 1,936 all-purpose yards (1,558 rushing, 379 receiving) over 14 starts last season. He also scored 12 touchdowns.
- Former NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson recently compared Vaughn to Darren Sproles, stating, “I think this could be a matchup nightmare out the backfield… There’s no way you’re going to stop him one-on-one from running option routes.”
Role: Vaughn is competing for the No. 2 running back job behind Tony Pollard. If he wins it, he’ll see significant action as a rookie.
Gallup: Patrik Walker (Cowboys.com) wrote that Gallup “looks eerily back to form to begin OTAs. There's a noticeable spring in his step that was absent in 2022, as he returned from a torn ACL."
- Gallup only averaged 2.8 receptions for 30.3 yards per game in 2022.
